Unlike having a car, you only get one body. Bodies age (if you’re lucky) and that’s not always so easy. But how you deal with the aging process is a choice that is in your power.

Culture tells aging women that we’re ugly and should do everything we can to “fix” our bodies to make them appear youthful.

To that I say, what the f***?

I choose to say no thanks to the “they” out there telling me it’s not okay to honor my body as it grows older. Because the alternative is NOT aging, which means my time on the planet is over. I’m not saying it’s easy to watch my skin and flesh change, but I’m also not willing to degrade this vessel that allows me to have life.

With the years you have left, how do you want to spend them? At war with your body? Or would you like to find ways to make peace with your aging self?

In my new workshop on aging, we’ll come together to explore Body Positive methods to counteract the pressure put on aging women to reject their bodies. Through creative activities, guided meditations, discussion, and lots of humor, we’ll give our bodies some love, kindness, and the gratitude they deserve for allowing us to still be here living our precious lives. We’ll create community that can last beyond our time together, because the best way to stay on the path of the counterculture is to do it with others who also choose to live with as much joy and peace as possible.

This workshop is recommended for women of any age who are struggling with the passage of time. There is no hierarchy for the suffering we experience at the various stages of our aging process. We will learn from one another and honor each other’s unique experiences and life stages.
