Join The Body Positive’s co-founder Connie Sobczak to explore how the five core Competencies of the Be Body Positive Model can promote resilience in your children against eating and body image problems.
Learn how to become the authentic role model your child needs, and how to deal with the body image challenges that arise as you parent your children through their different developmental stages. In this workshop you will gain tools to help you feel more confident as a parent, by:
- Improving your own body image so you can help, not hinder, your children’s self-image
- Developing sustainable, health-promoting eating and exercise habits for you and your kids
- Teaching your children to have a relationship with their body and beauty that is connected to their unique ancestry
- Helping your children learn to know and trust their intuitive wisdom to help them make choices—big and small—a skill that will not only help them with physical self-care, but also with relationship choices, career paths, self-protection, and so much more!
Connie Sobczak is the author of Embody: Learning to Love Your Unique Body (and quiet that critical voice!) She is CEO of The Body Positive, a nonprofit she co-founded to free people of all ages to live at peace with their magnificent bodies. Connie created the organization to change the world after her sister Stephanie’s death from eating and body image problems. She wanted her daughter Carmen—and all children—to grow up at peace with their bodies, and knowing that body positivity could be the norm, not the exception. Connie has freed thousands of young people to move their focus from obsession with idealized images to the things in their lives that truly matter.
