Come to Berkeley this May for our hometown Be Body Positive Facilitator Training. We’ll be at the beautiful Rudramandir Center, a healing center created to “provide a nourishing environment for the journey towards profound physical and spiritual well-being.” We’ve been conducting workshops and trainings at Rudramandir for the past three years, and it never fails to please our participants with its calming energy, and colorful, vibrant rooms.

“What makes the Body Positive Movement so brilliant in my eyes, is its ability to simultaneously amplify messages of compassion and self-love, while also creating long-standing synergies of support and collective. Ideas such as ‘Reclaiming Health’ or ‘Cultivating Self-Love’ empower individuals, and safeguard their new-found strength with the support of an entire movement behind them. It changes your mindset from one of critical comparison to one that seeks and sees universal beauty, in yourself and others.”

— Delphi Cleaveland, Cornell University Be Body Positive Leader

At this Be Body Positive Facilitator Training, you will:

  • Receive your own copy of our comprehensive Be Body Positive Facilitator Manual and Group Curriculum with step-by-step instructions for teaching our powerful Competencies in individual and group settings with clients. Click here to download samples of the Curriculum.
  • Experience the power of our Model to enhance your relationship with your own body, improve your self-care, and prevent burnout.
  • Gain confidence and invaluable skills to work with people struggling with eating and body image problems.
  • Engage in dialogue to understand the impact of intersecting identities, discrimination and privilege on body image and self-care.
  • Build relationships with other treatment professionals, educators, high school and college students, and athletic trainers who are passionate about ending eating disorders and creating Body Positive communities.
“Connie and Elizabeth provided a good balance of explaining the curriculum and allowing participants to experience it. They established a safe and nurturing environment and allowed for multiple viewpoints and opinions.”
—Be Body Positive Facilitator Training participant, Berkeley, CA, May 2017

Ground Transportation:

Oakland Airport shuttle

There is now a shuttle that goes directly from the Oakland airport to the BART station, where you can get a train that takes you directly to downtown Berkeley. You'll want to get on a Richmond train (NOT San Francisco, Millbrae, or Warm Springs), and get off at Downtown Berkeley. Please note there is also a North Berkeley station—you want Downtown Berkeley to get to downtown, and near the downtown hotels.

Lyft is Berkeley's easiest way to get an affordable ride in minutes. Download the app to learn more. If you don’t have your own car or a rental, you'll also want to be ready to take Lyft, Uber, or a cab from your hotel to the Rudramandir Center.

Gig Car share

Gig cars can be found at the Oakland airport. Set up an account, drive it into Berkeley and park it within an approved parking zone. $15 max per hour, or $2.50 per mile (about x miles from the Oakland airport).
